The Daily Five for April 16, 2014

20131109-103027.jpgYesterday was Jackie Robinson Day, a day we remember one of the greats and the man who broke the color barrier in baseball. It is truly a great day in baseball, and all of baseball celebrates by wearing his number, number 42. Prince Fielder decided to celebrate by hitting his first home-run in a Texas Rangers uniform, and Kevin Kouzmanoff thought it looked like such a good idea he went and did the same thing. The Texas Rangers got an amazing pitching performance from Robbie Ross as they defeated the Seattle Mariners 5-0.

With Beltre on the DL, it is nice to see Kouzmanoff stepping up and having a good stretch right now,  and hopefully the home-run by Fielder will be the start of something for him. The bull pen had a good game all around, which was also good to see. The Texas Rangers will take on Felix Hernandez and the Mariners tonight, and they themselves will have Yu Darvish on the mound. Should be a great game, or a terribly pitched game, depending on the fact that Darvish does not pitch well against the M’s and King Felix does not usually pitch well against the Texas Rangers.
