Rangers Tickets Well Above Season Average To See Jeter’s Final Series In Arlington

Sitting 24.5 games back in the AL West, the Texas Rangers will host the New York Yankees for three games at Globe Life Park in Arlington this week. The Rangers are having a forgettable year after five consecutive winning seasons. The Yankees, who are just four games behind the first place Orioles in the AL East, will hope to gain ground against the lowly Rangers this week. This will be the last time this season the Yankees appear on the Texas Rangers schedule at home, slightly bumping up secondary market ticket prices for the final time Derek Jeter will be in Arlington.

While the season average for Texas Rangers tickets is $51.48 on the secondary market, each game of the series will have an average price above that number. The series as a whole will be 55.7% above the season average.

The series begins tonight when Rangers ace Yu Darvish takes the mound against Yankees pitcher David Phelps. Darvish has excelled this year, going 9-6 with a 2.92 ERA on a depleted Rangers team. Phelps will enter Monday’s game coming off of his first complete game last week and is 5-4 with a 3.77 ERA.

Winless in four career starts against the Yankees, Lewis will take the mound with a 6-8 record and 6.23 ERA this season. Kuroda has been erratic at times this season but earned his seventh win of the season with some offensive help in his last start. The Japanese-born pitcher is 7-6 with a 3.99 ERA.
