Baseball Giveth and Baseball Taketh Away

Elvis Andrus Sad_1443909695455_306005_ver1.0The Texas Rangers had a good week last week, winning four games in a row including sweeping  the division rival Houston Astros. Life was good, the offense was starting to click, the stating pitching was still looking good, and the bullpen seemed to be coming around. But as we all know, baseball is a game of ebbs and flows, and when you have a four game win streak going on, there always seems to be a losing streak right around the corner. And this last weekend the Texas Rangers were swept in a three game series by the Chicago White Sox.

The White Sox are not a bad team like they have been in the recent past, they currently hold a record of 13-6, while the Rangers are sitting at 10-9, so it is not like it was a big surprise that the Sox played well against the Rangers. This is one of those things that casual baseball fans get upset or worried about, but I am here to tell you to not let your heart be troubled. These things happen several times during a long baseball season, and this will no be the last time the Rangers will have a losing streak that is at least 3 games.

The Rangers have the Yankees coming up next in Arlington, and the Rangers usually do not fare well against the Bronx Bombers. I still would not panic if the Rangers drop 2 out of three against the Yanks, especially seeing that Cole Hamels is going to miss his start tonight. These are just times in baseball that happen to every team. The Rangers will go through a six to ten game winning streak later in the season, and at that point you won’t see me crowning them World Series champs because of it. Baseball is a patient mans game.

So sit back tonight, UN-panicked, and enjoy the Rangers and the Yankees, and remember that one series does not a season make!
