No More Starts for Derek Holland

Derek Holland has been informed he is moving to the bull pen for the remainder of the season. Ever since his excellent year in 2013, Derek just has not been the same. This season, in 20 starts, Derek is 7-9 with a 5.04 ERA. Hollands last three starts have been bad, and his September ERA is a bismal 6.53. Opponents are hitting over .350 off of him.
The question now becomes, is Hollands time as a Ranger over? This move suggests the organization has lost paitence with the struggling left hander. My opinion? I think this is it for Derek in a Rangers uniform. He has been a severe disappointment since 2013. He showed so much potential, but never followed through.

The Rangers are saying they would like an eight man bull pen for the post season, which, while it may be true, it may not include Holland.

It is a shame, I have interviewed Derek several times and I like him. Very nice guy, but if you cannot do what you are gettimg paid to do, it is time to move on. I think that is what the Rangers are going to do.
