I have a feeling that Brandon McCarthy will be out to prove that getting rid of him was a mistake for the Rangers. Will he actually prove that? I don’t think so. McCarthy had some good starts for the Rangers, but he did not have many compared to the bad ones. He was with the Rangers for 3 seasons, all with the big boys, and he was only able to get in 221 innings in those 3 years. That is just an average of roughly 73 innings a season, from a starer that is not good. So far for the A’s, McCarthy 1-2 with a 3.57 ERA, but his last outing was not good. He allowed 7 runs in it. The Rangers should be able to tee off on McCarthy, and since I said that, they probably won’t. After watching him for the past 3 season with the Rangers, he is the kind of hitter that they can work off of. If they are patient, they can get it done. But that gets into the overall problem right now with the team, which I will write about in a different post. I, for one, am very interested to see what the Rangers can do against a him today. I hope you are hopeful as well.
