ALDS Game 1 – Wilson vs. Moore

Lets face it, the Rays are riding quite a wave into the post season after being 9 games down on September 3rd to Boston, watching Boston implode, being down 7-0 to the Yankees, coming back in the 8th and 9th inning to tie it, and then winning the game and the wildcard less than 10 minuets after the Red Sox lose. Whew! That was a lot of words to say the ALDS starts tomorrow between the Rangers and the Rays. Now, lets not think that the Rangers are struggling their way into the post season. They have won 6 straight and they had one of the best Septembers in Rangers history, and finished the with the best record in franchise history. So, what will happen in game 1?

C. J. Wilson – C.J. feels like he is better prepared for the post season this season after having a post season in 2010. “I got a lot of advice last year from people that have been there and I hadn’t been there,” Wilson said. “Now that I have been there, I know what to expect. ” I think he is right. I think that C.J. will dominate the Rays lineup in game . I look for C.J. to give up 2 runs or less in this start, and I think that the Rangers will win big against the Rays in game 1. C.J. is brimming with confidence after going 16-7 with a 2.94 ERA in the season.

Matt Moore- Matt is new to the MLB  scene. That could help him the first time through the lineup, or it could hurt him. The Rangers seem to struggle against someone that they have not seen before. Matt has been good so far, but he has only pitched 9.1 innings. He has an ERA of 2.89 and he has struck out 15. But that is a very short sample. I do not think he will be able to hold down a lineup that includes Mike Napoli (4 home runs in the last 2 games) Adrian Beltre (30+ home runs this season) Ian Kinsler, Josh Hamilton, Nelson Cruz, David Murphy, Michael Young and company. I think the Rangers win this game 9-1. I cannot wait to watch it tomorrow! Go Rangers!!!!!
