Should Hamilton Be The $12 million Dollar Man?

Josh Hamilton’s side is pretty stuck on $12 million, while the Rangers seem pretty stuck on $8.9 million. Josh said he is not worried about it, and that he has not really thought about it. “That’s why I have an agent, to handle all that stuff. Either way, I’ll be OK.” Josh is still recovering from his bout with pneumonia and says he is finally getting his appetite back. He says he will be ready for spring training, and will let all of the other stuff work itself out.

I am personally not too worried about it, as I believe that the Rangers will give Josh a long term contract before spring training is over. Just a gut feeling that I have. Josh was the MVP of the American League last season for a reason. He WAS the best player in the AL. The chances of him being that good year in and year out are not good, but the chance of him being a great player for years to come is very good. I believe that he will be a front line player for the next 5-6 years barring a major injury.

So, in conclusion, The Rangers will settle before arbitration with Josh’s people on somewhere around $10 million, and life will go on. Stay tuned for more information on the Rangers.
