The Rangers Are Undefeated!

On the road. After 1 game. They are also undefeated when Matt Harrison pitches. The important thing to me is that the Angels lost two out of 3 games to the Twins, and the Rangers came in and at least so far took the first of a 3 game series in a place that they have struggled since it opened. The Rangers are now 6-2 (and should be 8-0 really) and the Angels are 2-5 and in last place. I know it is too early in the season to scoreboard watch, but come on, the Angels have a losing record! You have to love that! Lets compare starting pitching so far for the two teams, shall we?

1. Colby Lewis 1-0, 1.42 ERA.           1. Jarod Weaver 1-0, 3.21 ERA

2. Derek Holland 1-0, 3.38 ERA       2. Dan Haren 0-1, 6.97 ERA

3. Matt Harrison 2-0, 0.68 ERA    3. Ervin Santana 0-2, 7.71 ERA

4. Yu Darvish 1-0, 7.94 ERA            4. C. J. Wilson 1-0, 1.29 ERA

5. Neftali Feliz 1-0, 0.00 ERA       5. n/a

That means the Rangers combined starters ERA is 2.68 and the Angels starters ERA (with one less pitcher so far I might add) is 4.80. Yep. That’s right. The Rangers are on a mad path right now to be the best staff in baseball, and after 2 starts Matt Harrison is on path to be what Alexi Ogando was to the starting roll in 2011. The guy who just goes out there and keeps winning. Tomorrow is Yu Darvish on Fox, and I know you all will be watching. I expect him to settle down from the bad start in his last game and have a really good game against the Twins. I sure hope I am right. I can’t take another first inning like Darvish had in Arlington!
