Rangers Get Offensive

The Texas Rangers came out swinging tonight, scoring 6 runs in the first inning and chasing Brandon Morrow after just 2/3 of an inning. Brandon has been having a good season up until tonight. The Rangers just finished a tough 20 games in 20 days stretch that ended Wednesday. The day off seemed to help, from what I can see! The Rangers batted around plus two in the first inning, and then added two more runs later in the game on solo home runs from Josh Hamilton and Yourvit Torrealba. Also, Nelly had 8 RBI’s, including a Grand Slam. Nelson, a right handed batter, put the ball 4 rows back in the upper deck, in RIGHT FIELD! Very amazing. And I have not even said anything about Holland yet. Derek looked like the Derek that we saw in the second half of the 2011 season, the guy that we all hoped that he would be coming into this season. Derek had pinpoint command of his pitches and he was really working his strikeout pitch tonight. He looked focused throughout the game so far, and he looks more confident than I have seen him in a while. I am hoping that this is a turning point for the Dutch Oven. If he can turn it on, it will inspire the other pitchers that have been struggling to turn it on. And now the pitchers are going to have the feeling that the defense and the hitting once again have their back. I look forward to seeing if the Texas Rangers can use this game as a springboard to get back to playing better than .500 ball.
