Some Thoughts on Michael Young

The Texas Rangers all time hits leader and face of the Franchise, Michael Young is now a Philadelphia Phillie. It still has not sunk in all the way to me or a lot of Rangers fans, but I wanted to say something about one of the greatest class acts in all of Baseball. Michael gave Texas the best he had for 12 seasons, won an MVP in an all star game, won a batting title, a gold glove and was Mr. Clutch at the plate for countless seasons. He was a fan favorite, he was great with the media, he was huge in the DFW area when it came to charity and giving back, and he was a fantastic teammate by all accounts. Rangers players are already tweeting how sad they are to see him go and Philly is getting one heck of a teammate. I read a great piece earlier today on Facebook by Let’s Go Rangers. If you don’t follow him than you should. Great site. I am sad but I understand why Michael is moving on and I wish him nothing but extreme success in Philadelphia. The Michael Young era is over in Texas, my only wish is that they could have gotten one more out in 2011 and Michael could have won a championship here. On the bright side, I now have a National League team to root for. Thank you very much Michael for a great career in Texas. You will be deeply missed.
