Home Recovery Musings for Friday, April 12-Squeeze-less in Seattle

I really wish that I could have stayed up and watched the game live last night, but my poor old medicated recovering body would not let me. The Rangers are getting it done right now though. To beat King Felix the way that they did is very impressive. The Rangers are becoming a team of small ball and opportunities, and I can live with that. I enjoy this brand of baseball very much. A.J. Pierzynski is havering a great start to the season and has done a great job helping us forget (not forget really, just not miss as much) Mike Napoli, and Lance Berkman has been, well, himself. The defense has been great and the pitching has done its job. Justin Grimm had about as good of a bad game as you could ask for, bending over and over again but never giving up the big inning. Tanner then struggled and Robbie Ross came in ad took care of that. They seem to be working together mad helping each other out, like a bull pen should. And lets not forget the job new fan favorite Joe Ortiz did. Out of all the guys who pitched last night, who would have thought Joe would look the best? And get the win! Kind of reminds me of last seasons Robbie Ross!

We will have to see if try can keep this up, because right now it looks like the Athletics are not going anywhere and we all know that the Angels are not going to finish the season at the bottom of the standings. The thing I like about this Rangers team so far is their ability to get the job done no matter who is in there or what the situation. I think some of the offensive credit has to go to Dave Madagan, new hitting coach. The hitters really seem to be buying into his approach. He is all about situational hitting and it shows right now. Tonight will be another rest for this team, and I hope that once again they can keep on rolling.
