Matt Garza update

According to T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com, the Rangers are looking at trading third baseman Mike Olt, pitcher Neil Ramirez and C.J. Edwards for Matt Garza of the Cubs. Olt has been a top prospect, and is a young talent for sure, Ramirez is 9-3 with a 3.33 ERA at Frisco so far this season. Edwards is at Spokane and is 8-2 with a 1.83 ERA on the season. Buster Olney of ESPN is saying that a deal is probably likely to get done today. The Rangers would have him pitch tomorrow if that happens.

Garza is having a pretty good season, being 6-1 with a 3.17 ERA, and he would probably make a solid no. 2 or 3 for the Rangers, but I am tired of renting players for half a season. Not even half a season at this point. IF the Rangers could extend him as part of the trade, then I would be more for the deal when it happens. And it looks as if it is going to happen. I will write more when we hear more.
