Another Sweep of the Astros

Adrian Beltre is a beast on the field and at the plate. That may be one of the best contracts of the last decade or more for this ball club (i may be overstating it at the moment). Beltre hits what was essentially the game winner last night and then has hits and steals and amazing defensive plays all over the place. He should be considered for AL MVP this season, and it is almost a tragedy that he wasn’t an all-star this year.

Derek Holland pitched a pretty good game tonight, but once again got a no decision. Tanner Scheppers had an epic meltdown, including a hit in the head bases loaded hit by pitch. Look, i still like Tanner, but tonight just wasn’t his night. Jason Frasor does not get enough credit for the way he has been pitching of late, and Nathan has been great most of the season. I just hope the kid Scheppers beaned is okay.

The Rangers, thanks to Seattle defeating the Athletics for the second time in three games, now have a 2.5 game lead in the AL West. Tomorrow is an off day and then it is back to Chicago to face Alex Rios’ former club. Should be a good road trip. Lets enjoy this one tonight and get ready for weekend baseball.
