Thanksgiving Thoughts

20131128-073316.jpgI would like to start my first article in quite some time by talking about something deeply personal, if that’s okay. My father passed away Sunday, November 24 at the age of 69. My father was one of my Hero’s, and he is one of the only people I knew that liked sports more than I did.

He grew up in Pennsylvania and never was able to shake his love for the Phillies, Eagles and Flyers. He also loved the Rangers and the Stars. He took me to a Phillies game for my first baseball game when I was a kid, and we went to many Rangers games together. He was also a devout Christian and he loved to travel Central and South America and preach the gospel. My heart is heavy on this Thanksgiving, but also I know I have hope because my dad is now with the savior he loved so much.

That being said, it’s time to eat a lot of turkey, eat too much pumpkin and pecan pie, and watch football. I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving. I will try to get back to writing here and giving you some of the news that I have missed, like Prince Fielder for Ian Kinsler, David Murphy signing with the Indians and all of the other stuff I have missed. Thank you for letting me vent for a little while about my dad.
