Texas Rangers Limping to the All-Star Break

20140504-114715.jpgThe Texas Rangers come in to the last home stand before the all star break with a record of 38-50, which, if you don’t keep up with baseball much, is not good. The Texas Rangers are not going to make the post season, but that does not mean the season is a total loss. Watching players like Rougned Odor, Nick Martinez, Michael Choice and other youngsters learn how to be major league players is fun, for me anyway.

I know it is much more fun to watch the Texas Rangers win every night, buts let’s face it, that ain’t happening right now. They are limping to the All-Star break, and it will be a break that all of them should be able to enjoy and reset themselves for the second half of the season. If the Texas Rangers can have a record of .500 over the second half of the season, I will be very thrilled indeed. If they could finish the season with a .500 record, I will be shocked and overjoyed.

With the news of Nick Martinez getting injured during batting practice, it just seems that no matter who the Texas Rangers call up, they are not going to last the whole season. All we can hope for now is that the injury bug does not bite any more Texas Rangers before the season is over and that they come out of the break with a new and fresh sense of winning baseball. And congratulations to Adrian Beltre and Yu Darvish for being named to the All-Star team.
