Rangers Ink Colby Lewis for Another Year

The Texas Rangers have signed free agent pitcher Colby Lewis to a 1 year, according to T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com.

According to Sullivan, it is a 1 year, $4 mm deal. I for one am glad to have Colby Lewis back in the fold, and glad that he will be pitching for the Texas Rangers another year. I do not expect him to light the world on fire or even wind up being the number 3 starter, I kind of hope that they have another pitcher to pick up before the start of spring training.

Colby is a good veteran presence for the younger guys on the staff and he is a guy that really likes being a Texas Ranger. I think that the deal is pretty good for a guy that, if he stays healthy, will be a guy that can eat up innings on this staff. Way to go Jon Daniels on bringing back the Colbra!lewis1

They Rangers also signed Michael Kirkman to a minor league contract with an invite to spring training, so for all of you that thought you had seen the end of Michael Kirkman in a Texas Rangers uniform, guess again. He will at least be in spring training if not brought up at some point during the 2015 season.

We now know who three of the five in the rotation are going to be going into 2015, just two more to go!
