404 Error – Pitching Not Found

yu-darvish-getty-tThe Texas Rangers are not limping into the All-Star Break, they are free falling. And they are free falling quickly. This may be the worst pitching stretch this team has going through since the mid 2000’s. And the creme of the crop is one Chi-Chi- Gonzales. Again last night he showed that he is no longer capable of being a major league starter even though he showed tremendous stuff in the minors and in his time with the Rangers last season.

So why the sudden downfall of Chi Chi, Nick Martinez, Matt Bush, Cesar Ramos and others on the staff? If I knew that, I would probably be hired by the Rangers instead of writing about them. But it has been drastic since the calendar turned from June to July. Even the great Cole Hamels has had struggles. The Rangers need pitching, or at the very least they need the break. I am not sure if rest alone will solve their problems. In the month of July they have already had games where they have given up 17, 12, 11 and 10.

The Rangers pitching will improve by addition, supposedly, after the break when Yu Darvish and Keone Kela are slated to return. But will that be enough to be a kick in the pants of a team that has absolutely no pitching at the moment? We will have to wait and see, but for now all we can hope is that they limp into the All-Star break and come back rested and ready for the second half of the season.
