Pre-Spring Training – The Series

number 22Here at the Ranger Report, we always thing about baseball. I know, there’s this thing called the Super Bowl coming up soon. More importantly, there are only twenty-two days left until pitchers and catchers report. Only twenty-two days to speculate about what this team will look like going into spring training. That’s no time at all! I thought I would take this opportunity to look at the team, one position at a time, and see what is shaping up to show up in Surprise, Arizona.

The series is due to change depending on who the Rangers add between now and that time twenty-two days from now when the Rangers report, but our plan is to go like this:

First will be pitchers, beginning with the rotation and finishing up with the bull pen.

Then we will move to the infield: first base, second base, third base, short-stop, and catcher.

The outfield will be next up. Left, center and then right.

Bench players and non-roster invitees will round out the list.

There are plenty of places that you can go and get your Rangers news, and we here at the Ranger Report appreciate the fact that so many of you check us out. I truly love this time of year. As soon as the Super Bowl ends, it is baseball season! Baseball is unique in the fact that spring training is a month long and fans get such amazing access to the players. Fans are also treated to getting to watch the future as well. The fight for making a team is one of the best in all of sports, and it can come down to one bad start or performance. It really is the best reality tv going.

I do not foresee a whole lot of surprises at starting positions, but we will discuss that in a future post. It is time to gear up Rangers fans, spring training is just around the corner, and I for one think it can’t get here soon enough!
