Rotation Set, One of them Hurt

The 5 guys that we here at the Ranger Report have been speculating would be the starters in fact are. Wilson, Lewis and the three H’s – Holland, Harrison and Hunter. The only problem is that Hunter injured his right groin. “It doesn’t feel very pleasant … it’s all right,” Hunter said about his injury. “It’s bearable. Hopefully I can be out there for Opening Day. It’s something that happened. I’ve got to get full strength and go.” I hope he is right. As all you probably remember, Hunter went down during spring training 2010 and missed a good bit of the season, and I will be interested to see how long this injury keeps Hunter out, I hope that it is not very long. The Rangers will re-evaluate Hunter tomorrow and see if he can be ready in the 8 short days until the season starts. They could move him back to 5th starter which would give him until April 5th to get ready. We will see how this all plays out. In case you didn’t figure it out from the rotation thing, Feliz will reprise his role as the Rangers closer again in the 2011 season. Thanks for reading.

  1. SP—Wilson, Lewis, Harrison, Hunter, Holland

RP—Closer Feliz, 8th inning Ogando and Oliver, 6-7th innings O’Day Strop and Rhodes, Longman Tomko or Bush? So is that our opening day pen and starting rotation? Don’t think Mark Lowe is ready for MLB this year yet…go to RR and fix whatever needs fixin’. Hunter to DL with Webb and Bush your 5th starter?

  2. I like it Adam. I still think that Lowe will get the benifit of the doubt going into the season, but the plug will be pulled on him pretty quick if things do not go well. I also believe that Tomko will make the team. Bush is looking pretty good right now against the Padres, we will see what happens!! Thanks for always for reading and commenting! 8 days left till that sweet, sweet opening day!!
