Odds of a Good Season Unlikely

The Texas Rangers have announced their report dates for pitchers and catchers. February 12, all pitchers and catchers will be in camp ready to go, with training starting the next day. That is less than seventy days away! The first scrimmage is on February 23, just eleven days later. The great news for Rangers fans and baseball fans is that baseball is only 10 weeks away!

The Rangers have a lot to do between now and February 12. They need starting pitchers. They need relievers. They have some work to do if they want to be a competitive force in the near future. In my opinion, they will not be that competitive in 2019. I would be happy to be wrong. They will have to bring in players before we will know how they will shape up with the rest of the league.

The odds of a successful season go up with each good acquisition. As it stands right now, the Rangers are 120/1 on winning the World Series. The odds go to 60/1 that they would win the American League Pennant. If you think the Rangers have a chance to win, you should take those odds to one of the USA legal betting sites and put down some money. If the Rangers surprise us all and win, you would make a lot of cash. With the rise of USA legal betting sites over the past few years, it is becoming easier and easier to do just that.

As the Rangers team stands right now, I would not put my money on them. I don’t believe that they are quite ready for the big time again. With a brand new manager in Chris Woodward and his new staff, it will be a tough year to win with the young talent they have. Of course there is plenty of time for all of that to change. The Rangers have one starting pitcher, Mike Minor, ready for the 2019 season. Last I checked, they need five. There are plenty of free agents out there, the question is how aggressive will Jon Daniels and his front office crew pursue them. I suppose we will find out the answer to that question in the next seventy days or so.
