Sunday Morning Rangers Things

According to multiple sources, the Phillies are very interested in Rangers probable opening day starter Mike Minor. Would Jon Daniels and the Rangers deal him? Absolutely! The Phillies have a plethora of young pitching prospects that the Rangers would love to get their hands on. The right deal could definitely move Minor.  The Rangers are not planning on being a World Series contender in 2019, so an move to ensure a bright future is a move they have to consider at this time.

According to Jon Morosi, the Rangers are among several teams interested in Mike Fiers. He had a great 2018 campaign with the Tigers and Athletics, going 12-8 with a 3.56 ERA over 30 starts. He also walked less than two batters per nine innings. Especially if the Rangers deal Minor, this would be a good pickup.

The Padres are showing some interest in Jurickson Profar, but I don’t believe the Rangers will try to deal him. He should be the starting third baseman going forward for this team. This seems more like AJ Preller, former Rangers assistant, likes Profar and was checking if the Rangers were going to make him available for a trade. I would be shocked if this one happened.

A report came out from ESPN that listed Dallas area venues as some of the grossest in professional sports for food in the country. Globe Life Park had violations in over 71% of the concessions inspected, and the American Airlines Center had over 81%. According to the companies that run the concessions, the reports did not tell the whole story. The violations used in the story were not considered major violations by the health inspector. Either way, I’ll still eat a hot dog or two while I am there!
