Should the Rangers Sign Manny Machado?

Our Texas Rangers are still in the process of putting together a team for 2019. Should Manny Machado be in the mix? Texas should probably kick the tires on the 26 year old infielder. He has been great at his positions, and can play short stop and third base. Also, market is not what many players hoped int would be. Jon Daniels and crew may be able to get him for less than you think.

Machado has a career batting average of .282 (.294 in 2018 with the Orioles and Dodgers). He walked 70 times. He had thirteen errors total in 2018, but only one at third base. He only played third base in 16 games. Machado would solve the third base problem for the Texas Rangers, but are they willing to pay what he would want? They are not paying a whole lot for anyone else on the roster. Bringing in a guy like Manny Machado would be good for the team.

I am not saying to break the bank with this guy. What I am saying is that they would be foolish not to at least look into the possibility. Machado is sitting out there with just 30 days left before pitchers and catchers report. He wants to play. He will work with the right team.

Will the Rangers sign Machado? Probably not. They are not trying to burn the world down with talent this off season. I believe that he would be a good replacement for Beltre, but the cost will just be too high. All we can do is wait and see. Agree? Disagree?
