In Season Rangers Odds of Success

Now that the MLB season is underway many of you will be looking for valued odds on the Rangers, these sportsbooks listed are a great resource for those who want to cut out the research and know what the best option for them is. The 6-6 Rangers sit 11th in runs per game (4.9) and should get decent offensive production this year, despite scoring just four runs during their three-game losing streak in Anaheim. But the pitching has been an issue and doesn’t figure to get much better. The starters have a concerning 6.55 ERA (29th) and 5.53 xFIP (29th), while the bullpen has only been slightly better, posting a 4.19 ERA (17th) and 5.10 xFIP (23rd). FanGraphs projects the Rangers to fall short of their opening win total (71.0) by two games and they are still considered a massive long shot to win the West (+2800), let alone the World Series (+17500).

  • 2019 Odds World Series Odds: +17500 (current)
  • Division Odds: +2800 (current)
  • Win Total Odds: 71.0 (opening)
  • Playoff Odds: Make / Miss: +2500 make/ -5000 miss (opening)

So what does all that mean for Rangers fans? If you are a betting man (or woman), and you decide to bet on the Rangers and they surprise everyone, you will be a very rich person. I have been stating since the beginning of the season that the Rangers would not be a great team in 2019 (my official prediction was 67-95). My predictions still stands. They do currently sit at 6-6, which is better than I projected they would be at this point of the season. I just don’t see the odds makers getting it so wrong. As already mentioned, the pitching is not good at all. Mike Minor has been the only spot in the rotation that has looked good, and the rest have been either not terrible or just plain terrible.

Texas Rangers baseball 2019 is what it is. I tend to agree with the odds makers and with my own earlier prediction. I’ll still watch every game that I can and I will still find enjoyable ways to talk and write about them. We just want to make sure you, the great fan base, do not get your hopes too high. After all, when you bring in a few recovering rentals to fill your rotation, you can’t expect a run at the World Series. Agree or disagree?
