Think back to October of 2010, Neftali Feliz facing off against A-Rod with two outs in the top of the 9th inning, He throws the pitch and Eric Nadel says something to the effect of, he struck him out, and the Rangers are going to the World Series. That is the feeling I want to get back about the Texas Rangers, and I think a sweep in this series would go a long way to getting Rangers fans back in the mood for championship baseball. I also think it does not hurt the Rangers at all that the Dallas Mavericks just won the NBA Finals against another team that is considered evil. Now I know that this series coming up in NY is not a playoff series, but think back to the last regular season meeting between these two team in 2010, and how we all felt when the Ranger swept the Yankees. I started to believe then that the Rangers had a great chance of advancing in the post season, and I feel, even though it is early in the season, that the Rangers can really prove a point in this series if they at least win 2 out of the 3 games. We are about to all start speculating about trades, moves, and minor league callups, Tommy Hunter and Scott Feldman are getting healthy, Brandon Webb is still a possibility in the future, and the Rangers offense is back (ignore yesterday’s game). The Yankees are not having the stellar season that a whole lot of people thought they would, and they Rangers are better than most of the “experts” thought they would be. Of course, these are the same experts that said Miami was already the NBA Champions before the NBA regular season even began. So, what does all that mean? It means it is time for the Rangers to have another domination June and take total control of the AL West. It needs to start tomorrow night. There is something about beating teams like the Lakers and the Heat in basketball or the Yankees and Red Sox in baseball that really gets the fan base excited about Rangers baseball. I think that the Rangers are poised to do just that starting tomorrow night, and I really hope I am right.
