Texas Rangers Finalize Roster

The Texas Rangers have finalized their roster for opening day. Rangers fans knew most of them, now we have them all.

The Rotation

Opening Day starter is Jon Gray. Taking the ball day 2 on Saturday is gong to be Dane Dunning. The third game in Toronto will be Martin Perez.

For those that somehow missed it, Taylor Hearn (a former guest on our podcast) will get the ball for the home opener. Spencer Howard will get the ball for game 5 of the season.

There were not a ton of surprises here. The rotation will not remain the same for the whole season and will be in flux.

The Bullpen

Joe Barlow (RHP) will be the closer, and the other right handers are as follows: Josh Sborz, Dennis Santana, Matt Bush, Albert Abreu and Gregg Holland.

Coming in from the left side will be Brett Martin, John King, Kolby Allard and the only surprise here Brock Burke. Garrett Richards in on the 10 day IL with a blister.

Infield

Catchers Mitch Garver (starter) and Jonah Heim (backup), 1B Nathaniel Lowe, 2B Marcus Semien, 3B Andy Ibanez, SS Corey Seager, utility man Charlie Culberson.

Outfield

RF Kole Calhoun, CF Adolis Garcia, LF Brad Miller, Nick Solak, Eli White and Willie Calhoun.
