Bad Weekend

The Texas Rangers are a better team than the New York Mets, but they did not act like it this weekend. I thought with the homerun outburst they showed Friday that they may be on to something with the Mets, but the pitching was not up to snuff. Now, to be fair, Derek Holland pitched a good game today, but he got absolutely no breaks whatsoever, including the last play he did not make before he was pulled from the game. The starting rotation does not worry me, except for one man, and if I said this two weeks ago you would all call me crazy, but it may be time for Alexi Ogando to take a break from starting and move back to the bullpen. Because we all know that we need bullpen help for sure. The bullpen has a combined ERA of 4.83, and the starters have an ERA of 3.62. You can’t come in in the 6th to 7th inning and give up 4+ runs a game and expect to win very often. The Ranger should have beat the Mets all three games, but I expected them to lose at least one of them, and I was wrong. They seem to get blown out a little more often than I thought they would as well. Lets see if they can straighten things out in Houston this week, and then see what they can do back at home next weekend. The season is by no means lost, and this team is still the team that I think will win the West, probably pretty handily by the time it is all said and done, they are just going to need some help to do it.
