The Texas Rangers are feast or famine this season when it comes to scoring runs. Last night was a feast night for sure. The Rangers belted out 13 runs on 18 hits, and got hr’s from the likes of Beltre, Hamilton and even Endy Chavez. In fact, Chavez had 4 rbi in his 1st 2 at bats. This is the Rangers team that we all expected coming out of spring training, and it only shows up every now and again lately. So what do the Rangers need to do? They need to be more consistant. I would take the Rangers only scoring 6 or 7 runs if they would do it every game, instead of scoring 13 one day and 3 the next. The Rangers have to sweep the O’s and the and the A’s going into the all-star break to make me and a lot of other Ranger fans feel more comfortable going into the All-Star break next weekend. Their schedule does not get any eaiser coming out of the break, and Seattle is hanging around while the suprise Angels are tied for first with the Rangers. The Rangers started the season at 9-1, that is 8 games over .500, and since that start they have only managed to go 36-40. They need to play better than that. The Angels are not going away unless the Rangers put them away. Last night was encouraging, but the Rangers have given us a whole lot of 1 game encouragment, usually followed by a team that looks bad again. I think tonight is a big game for the Rangers. They need to dominate the O’s again, and they need to prove to the league that they are who we thought they were. AL West champions. It is time to prove it, Rangers.
