Koji Uehara

Bye bye Chris Davis and Tommy Hunter, hello Koju Uehara. The Rangers have traded for the Orioles pen man in hopes that he will help our pen. I have a strong feeling that the Rangers are going to use Uehara in the 8th inning to set up for Feliz. Hunter struggled with injury every year he was with the Rangers, and Davis, athough I have always liked him personally, has not gotten it together yet as a Ranger. Let me make a prediction: he will as a member of the Orioles. Look for Chris to be a big time player somewhere in the next three seasons.

Uehara has an ERA of 1.72 in 47 innings pitched this season so far, he has struck out 62 while walking only 8. This could be a good move for the Rangers, as Uehara seems to be a good young reliever. His career ERA is 303, and he has only walked 25 batters and only given up 18 home runs in 157.2 innings. I was a little surprised by this trade, because I heard his name mentioned early on, but not lately. I did mention him here though. I am very excited to see what Uehara will do for the pen and to see if the Rangers have any more moves up their sleves.
