Texas Rangers Spring Training Making Fans Nervous

20140220-115720.jpgTexas Rangers fans are very excited that spring training is upon us. It really is the most wonderful time of the year! But so far, the news coming out of Arizona has been more bad then good. First, Jurickson Profar was shut down due to shoulder tendonitis. But it’s okay, right? We were told by the experts that it is nothing to worry about, unless he has another setback. Then, Profar may not be ready for opening day. Great.

Then, today we are told that the Matt Harrison injury may be bad. He is being flown back to Dallas to have his lower back evaluated. For a guy that had two back surgeries last year, this can’t be a good thing. I am less optimistic about Harrison. I was very hopeful that he would be back to his old self again, but now I am not so sure. At least the Texas Rangers have back up plans. Nick Tepesch, Tommy Hanson and Colby Lewis are all on track. For now. Colby said he feels better than he has in a very long time on 103.3 FM in Dallas. I hope he does.

It is too early in spring training to hit the panic button yet, but I have to at least admit that I am a bit nervous so far. I sure hope the injury train has stopped for now and we can get back to enjoying the players on the field in spring Training.
