Texas Rangers Player Profiles: Tommy Hanson

tommy-hansonTommy Hanson is expected to compete for the Texas Rangers starting rotation going into 2014, and for good reason. Tommy Hanson was a great pitcher for the Braves before he had all of his injury problems. Tommy Hanson was a big time pitcher, as a matter of fact.

Hanson is said to be healthy going into the spring, and so far he has looked like he is healthy. I have been impressed with what I have read and seen from him. I am looking forward to seeing him pitch today in the first spring training game. He should get in early in the game, maybe third or fourth in the order, with of course Yu Darvish starting.

Hanson is ready to have another Braves-like season for the Texas Rangers, and if he does, it will be another one of those moves that Jon Daniels pulled off that no one will know how. He seems to be able to find those guys that are ready to come back. Now I am not saying that everyone that he has picked up worked out that way (Brandon Webb comes to mind) but more have than have not. Look for Tommy Hanson to be on the opening day roster as a starter.
