The first cactus league spring training game is complete, and the Rangers came up just a little short, losing to the Royals 4-2. Overall, it they appeared to play a good game and we got a look at some of the up and coming talent in the Rangers organization. Here are some of the highlights.
The Rangers made two errors, Young made a fielding error at third and Elvis made a throwing error. As a team the Rangers were 0-6 with runners in scoring position. The two runs were on a HR hit by Doug Deeds in the 6th  inning. Overall their offense looked flat, but what do you expect in game one of the cactus league?

Pitching:   CJ started the game and went 2 innings, allowing 1 earned run and striking out 2 with no walks allowed. Prettygood start for the opening day guy. He was followed by Dave Bush, who also gave up 1 earned run in 2 innings of work. They were followed by Mark Lowe, Tanner Scheppers, Tateyama, Tucker and Pedro Strope, each with 1 scoreless inning (except for a few unearned runs). Overall, it is just awesome to be having baseball games to write about again!!
