Beltre, Darvish Likely to Miss Time

T.R. Sullivan of texasrangers.com reports tha Yu Darvish will miss his start on Monday and go back to Dallas to have his neck and shoulder examined. Darvish sounded confident after he was pulled last week that he would make his next start, so it is not a good sign that he is headed back to Dallas. The Rangers have been realitivly healthy so far in 2016, and it has showed in their record, which is still the best in the American League. We will know more on Darvish after he is examined, but I am not holding out hope that it is good news.

Adrian Beltre, who is one of the toughest players in the majors, is probably more injured than the team is letting on as well. Whenever they say he will be re-evaluated after a weekend series, it is usually code for a stint on the disabled list. Beltre is most likely attempting to talk his way on the field, but he is going to be forced the rest if he is just not healthy enough. With the way that Rougned Odor and Jurickson Profar have been playinf, the Rangers can afford to let Beltre take some time  to heal that hamstring. I really hope that I am wrong on both players, but I have a feeling that we are going to get bad news on both come next week.
