Friday Roster Predictions Part 1

I am going to do Friday roster predictions for the rest of spring training. It is going to be fun and entertaining and I am never wrong. That last part may be a slight exaggeration. The point is, we are three weeks from opening day! We truly hope you enjoy our predictions.

Roster – Starting Rotation

Starters one through three will probably not change between now and opening day, but anything can happen. Slots four and five however could easily change from week to week. Here is my starting rotation for this Friday.

  1. Kyle Gibson
  2. Kohei Arihara
  3. Mike Foltynewicz
  4. Dane Dunning
  5. Taylor Hearn

Roster – The Bullpen

The injury of Jonathan Hernandez changes things a bit, as it takes him off the roster. I think this will continue to fluctuate as we get closer to April 1. As of today, this is how I see the Rangers bullpen shaping up.

  1. Closer – Jose LeClerc
  2. Brett Martin
  3. Jordan Lyles
  4. Hyeon-Jong Yang
  5. Josh Sborz
  6. Joely Rodriguez
  7. Brett de Geus
  8. Ian Kennedy

Roster – The Infield/DH

One of the areas that is still in flux is the infield. We know who the second baseman shortstop will be, but other than that it is wide open. We have several guys in a good competition for these spots. Here is what I see opening day for the Rangers infield.

  1. First Base – Nate Lowe
  2. Second Base – Nick Solak
  3. Third Base – Rougned Odor
  4. Shortstop – Isiah Kiner-Falefa
  5. Catcher – Jose Trevino
  6. Designated Hitter – Willie Calhoun
  7. Utility Infield – Charlie Culberson
  8. Catcher – Jordan Heim
  9. First Base/Right Field – Ronald Guzman

The Outfield

We can assume all three spots, but it doesn’t mean that it is set in stone just yet. We know right field for sure, since the Rangers have a gold glover there. Here is how I see it shaping up as of today.

  1. Right Field – Joey Gallo
  2. Center Field – Leody Taveras
  3. Left Field – David Dahl
  4. Outfield/DH – Khris Davis

We will do another updated one next week and then the following week getting you all ready for real baseball!
