Where The Rangers are at Now

First of all, I would like to congratulate the Dallas Mavericks on their 4 game sweep of the Lakers. The Lakers are kind of the Yankees of the NBA, and as a fan of Dallas sports in general, it was good to see the Mavs pull the series out with ease. It looks like the Rangers are not the only Dallas based team to make a deep playoff run, and it is going to be a fun ride!

That out of the way, I know what all of you are thinking. What is wrong with the Rangers? Well, lucky for you, I am here to tell you. Here is what I think is wrong with the Rangers right now and here is why I think you should not freak out and sell all of your Rangers shirts and hats. 1. No Josh Hamilton, No Nelson Cruz and a Napoli slump. These are three things that are going to change drasticly in the next few weeks. When the Rangers get Nelly and Josh back, this offense will be better. It may take them a little while to get going, but history tells us they will get going. Also, Mike is a good player who is not playing good right now. You know as well as I that he will bust out here pretty soon again and be a force to be reconed with. So, take into consideration that last years reigning MVP and a guy that could have been MVP if he would have stayed off the DL are out, and remember that the Rangers are still scoring runs in spurts. Their offense will be okay. 2. Neftali Feliz is back. The Rangers had no closer for a couple of weeks, and that is not good when the bull pen was already suspicious. Now that Nefti is back, the Rangers will have some order to that bull pen again. I know that they were not good against the Yankees yesterday, but I think they will be better now. They will get some order to the pen, see if Rhodes and some others can recover from a few bad outings, and then they will have some pecking order to the bullpen. I look for it to settle down in the next few weeks. 3. It’s early, for crying out loud! The Rangers are not playing their best baseball right now. Would you rather them do it now or in July, August and September? I say get the bad play out of the way right now and kick the division’s collective rear end in the summer months that really count. The Rangers are going to be fine, and they are going to win the division again and go to the post season. If the Rangers are 10 games out in June, then you can start to be worried. But take it from a guy that has been following this team for a very long time, this team is good. This is not like the teams of the past that do not have the talent, the talent is there, and it will come forth soon.

Am I wrong? Is it time to be freaking out? let me know!

  1. i agree with your article. when the bats do come back, we will hear the firecrackers go off more often

  2. In my opinion, the bullpen will be the death of the season. dont
get me wrong, you know i am a ranger fan ben, but instead of spending all that money on that third baseman we had a good, solid, defensive player at the hot corner. and you know that was davis. so they could have taken the money and built a dang good bullpen. and the last thing i want to say is that he has had a good run but wash has to go.
