Rangers and Whitesox Preview

The Rangers have lost 16 of their last 26 games, and during that stretch they have had a team batting average of .244 and a lowly slugging percentage of .348. The only good thing to take from that is the fact that most of that was without perennial all star and reigning AL MVP Josh Hamilton and all-star Nelson Cruz, who will both be back in the lineup tonight. Hambone will DH and Nelly will be back in right field. Cruz went 5-11 at RR and Hambone went 2-11. Either way, it will be good to have those guys back in the lineup tonight.

Monday, May 23, 2011 – Danks (0-6, 4.32 ERA) vs. Ogando (4-0, 2.13 ERA)

Ogando has been a great addition to the Rangers starting rotation, and Danks has had a terrible year. I am not saying that means Danks will stink it up tonight, he pitched pretty well against his former team last week when the Rangers traveled to Chicago. Look for Ogando to continue his dominance tonight against the Sox, and look for Danks to pitch well also. I think this could be a game decided by a big homerun somewhere in the middle innings. I look for the Rangers to win this one 5-2 or so.

Tuesday, May 24, 2011 – Peavy (1-0, 2.40 ERA) v Holland (3-1, 4.37 ERA)

Derek has been a real solid starter this season for the Rangers, and I for one have been very impressed with the confidence that he has exuded as a starter so far in this season. He has had a bad inning or two here or there, but overall, he has been solid. I look for him to have a real solid effort in this one, but he is going against Peavy who is a great pitcher. This may be a close game, or it may get away from one pitcher or another during. I think it will get away from Peavy, and I think that Hambone has a big game here. The Rangers win this one 7-3.

Wed, May 25, 2011 – ??? vs. Wilson (4-3, 3.42 ERA)

C.J. is the ace of this staff, and I think he will start showing why. He had 10 strikeouts in his last outing and I think he is going to be striking out a whole lot of guys for the rest of the season. Look for the Rangers to complete the sweep of the Sox here and have a great week.

Josh and Nelly back, I think this is shaping up to be a good week for Ranger Fans!
