The Rotation? Not to Worry.

Who in their right mind would have thought that in the middle of June our rotation would consist of just two of the guys we started the season with. With the news that Colby Lewis is going on the DL today, the Rangers now have a rotation of, are you ready,
1. Yu Darvish
2. Roy Oswalt
3. Scott Feldman
4. Matt Harrison
5. Martin Perez.
I would not have wanted that in a million years, but last year was an anomaly as far as the health of the rotation. Don’t forget we also had Justin Grimm pitch two games and Alexi Ogando, who was injured in a interleauge play game legging out a bunt (don’t get me started on interleauge play). I would actually be a lot more worried, and maybe I should be, if the Rangers did not still have the best record in all of baseball at 45-29. Here is what I think. I think we will be okay over all. Holland, Feliz and Lewis will all be back after the All Star game. And this team has a 4.5 game lead on the Angels without Mitch Moreland, Colby Lewis, Derek Holland, Neftali Feliz and Alexi Ogando. And a rookie in the rotation. Not sure when Ogando and Moreland will be back, but it will be soon after the All Star game. This team has not been at 100% for a while, and they are still winning at a pretty good rate. (8-2 in their last 10). I expect this team to pull away from the competition in the second half of the season. The Angels cannot stay on the blistering pace they are currently on, the Rangers are proof of that. The Rangers are going to win at least 98 games this season, mark my words. The Angels are not. So have faith, Rangers fans. This spell of DL guys may be ending soon, and we can all get back to being bored with just how good this team is.
